WHO WE ARE

DREAMERS END WASTE: DEW

Here at DEW we take the time to consider sustainability of all aspects of our products as well as delivering high impact results.  We have extensive knowledge of the beauty care industry and came to the realization that responsible performing ingredients, best in class formulas, and striving for zero just wasn't available. Brands made you pick between team science or team nature (like one was better than the other?) and another group paraded around greenwashing to try and convince you to buy buy buy. None of that made sense to us here so it was apparent we had to take matters into our own hands. Think about it...  large companies (and stores) have the power financially to support big changes and yet they use their time promoting "minimal sustainability standards" because it is in style. Does Carbon Neutral Credits and Tree Planting schemes drive anyone else crazy? Yet they continue to make and market products using mostly plastic, pretend recycling programs or using recycled content of packaging will make the difference. Just remember what we throw away doesn't really go "away"  so we don't turn a blind eye to what goes in a landfill. This is neglect to our Earth. We took the best nature had to offer and scientifically approached sustainability by pairing innovative formulas with customized refill packaging (instead of picking something stock developed in our broken system). Because your skin is important to us and equally as important as our Earth. We use clinical level actives, that deliver noticeable results, dermatologist tested for everyone, but also while striving zero waste.  There are two homes to consider: Our Body & Our Planet so we create performance driven skincare to take care of both.

WE DON'T MAKE PLASTIC OR MUCH OF A CARBON FOOTPRINT BUT WE STILL OFFSET WHAT IS CREATED.

It is important to us that along with prevention we do still contribute to great works. Each year we calculate our company's estimated overall carbon emissions and offset our total footprint in operations. In 2020, 2021, 2022 we donated to the build of a hydroelectric plant in India as our dedicated offset project.

Special Projects: Other charitable works include donations to Project:Water (builds wells in water restricted areas worldwide), and Midnight Mission, San Pedro for the Holidays (feeding meals to those in need). For 2021 we refused participation in Black Friday and joined in "BLUE FRIDAY" along with a Coalition of Brands teaming up with The Surfrider Group, Pacific Rim Chapter, to remove and replace eroding EPS foam docks. This helps prevent the release of microplastics into clean water while supporting a great organization. For 2022 we focused on local sustainability events like HERmosa and SIS in San Diego. Currently we are collecting and recycling sneakers for proceeds to benefit the Plastic Pollution Coalition AND save 500 sneakers from the landfill.

We don't consider our brand "business as usual" since our first mission is to PREVENT plastic in products but we like to contribute cleanup solutions while still removing the need for forever materials to ever be created.

We ship carbon neutral. This is a bare minimum of what we offer as a company. Our shipping calculator is integrated into our website and is paid for by us to ensure any emissions that are created from shipping are considered. Also, did you know our highly concentrated and compact nature (packaging and physical products) makes us one of the most efficiently made skincare products globally? Each package has very little dead space per shipment and is mere ounces for months worth of skincare. Just another magical aspect of our refill inventions and intentions.

DID YOU KNOW OUR LOGO REPRESENTS FOUR PILLARS?

Refuse: Set a positive example. Nothing brings more change than seeing it in action.

Reuse: Use existing items vs purchasing new. Hello refills!

Reduce: Consume less overall. Reject hyper-consumer behavior and choose better instead of numerous. Less but quality means less clutter and more effective performance!

Recycle: At last resort, additional lifecycles. Since recycling is broken system here in the US we can't rely on it... but there are some materials that outperform others in weight and acceptability into the recycling stream.

We are a member of the Plastic Pollution Coalition

This is a growing global alliance of more than 1,200 organizations, businesses, and thought leaders in 75 countries working toward a more just, equitable world free of plastic pollution and its toxic impact on humans, animals, waterways, the ocean, and the environment. We believe in their great works and so we joined their mission!

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE

When I conceived DEW MIGHTY it was out of a desire to create something that didn't exist but I felt was essential: UNBOTTLED SLOW BEAUTY, with the lowest carbon footprint possible, composed of undiluted pure ingredients, that is effective for all skin types. We kept our standards high and knew we could offer products that would outperform conventional options and remove wasteful packaging.

Being in the beauty industry for 15 years made me wonder how is it that the focus turned to only clean ingredients but packaging toxins plus planet health were both ignored? I spent countless days/months/hours perfecting our first formula (now averaging two years per product launch!) and researched all packaging materials to create two potent skin care serums, a powdered "better than bottled cleanser," and a mega moisture body block. All developed to perform better than the " traditional bottled stuff." It was a passion but also an obsession to figure out this puzzle.

We commit to an unwavering high standard and are grateful for amazing customers who believe in our mission. Thank you for coming along on this journey with us!

XOXO
